Through 3 Quarters

The NC State Wolfpack are just one quarter away from delivering their fans the win they've been expecting all week. a win is still up for grabs for either squad, but they are up 26-24 over the Miami (FL) Hurricanes

The Wolfpack have been led by QB Devin Leary, who so far has passed for three TDs and 257 yards on 36 attempts. QB Tyler Van Dyke has led the way so far for Miami (FL), as he has passed for three TDs and 286 yards on 28 attempts.

The Hurricanes haven't lost 100% of the games in which they were down heading into the final period this season, so a victory here would be refreshing.

What to Know

Get ready for an ACC battle as the NC State Wolfpack and the Miami (FL) Hurricanes will face off at 7:30 p.m. ET Saturday at Hard Rock Stadium. If the contest is anything like Miami (FL)'s 44-41 win from their previous meeting in November of last year, the scorekeeper will be kept real busy.

NC State's game against the Boston College Eagles last week was close at halftime, but the Wolfpack turned on the heat in the second half with 23 points. NC State put the hurt on BC with a sharp 33-7 victory. The matchup was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point NC State had established a 31-7 advantage. NC State QB Devin Leary was slinging it as he passed for three TDs and 251 yards on 24 attempts. Near the top of the highlight reel was Leary's 79-yard TD bomb to WR Thayer Thomas in the third quarter.

Meanwhile, it was close but no cigar for the Hurricanes as they fell 45-42 to the North Carolina Tar Heels last week. Miami (FL)'s loss came about despite a quality game from RB Jaylan Knighton, who punched in two rushing touchdowns in addition to snatching one receiving TD. Knighton hadn't helped his team much against the Virginia Cavaliers three weeks ago, so this was a nice turnaround for him.

The Miami (FL) defensive unit accumulated four sacks for a loss of 31 yards. Leading the way was LB Keontra Smith and his two sacks. Those were the first sacks for Smith this season.

The Wolfpack are the favorite in this one, with an expected 3.5-point margin of victory. They have been consistent moneymakers against the spread when favored (3-1), so they might be worth a quick bet.

NC State is now 5-1 while the Hurricanes sit at 2-4. A couple defensive stats to keep in the back of your head while watching: NC State is 163rd worst in the nation in passing touchdowns allowed, with nine on the season. Miami (FL) has experienced some passing struggles of their own as they are stumbling into the contest with the 210th most passing touchdowns allowed in the nation, having given up 12 on the season. It's possible one of these Achilles' heels will wind up tripping the losing team up.
